Sierra Vogt Suarez, O.D. earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from The University of Iowa, and her Doctorate in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. While at the Chicago Illinois College of Optometry, she completed a clinical rotation at the Illinois Eye Institute, where she treated patients with partial vision loss during and after major eye surgeries. She achieved the Dean’s List four years in a row, in addition to being inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society for academic achievement.

Dr. Suarez went on to complete her Military Hospital internship working at the Beaufort South Carolina Naval Hospital, where she provided medical eye care for active duty and retired officers and their family members. Dr. Suarez completed a second Military rotation at the Tuscaloosa Alabama Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). Dr. Suarez also spent four months volunteering at Highline Vision Center in Colorado, where she specialized in treating young children with vision therapy to help them avoid eye surgery and improve their academic and sports performance. She became an expert in fitting custom medical contacts for patients with cornea
diseases, as well as fitting children in Ortho-K CRT and multifocal lenses to prevent them from developing the need for glasses. Due to her husband’s career with the Air Force, Dr. Suarez has worked in private practices in South Carolina, New Jersey and Oklahoma. She most recently spent four years in rural Oklahoma as a mobile doctor, visiting senior citizens in nursing homes and at assisted living facilities to provide bedside medical eye care.

Dr. Suarez is licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and board certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry to perform medical eye exams and administer injections. She is registered with the DEA to prescribe and administer ophthalmic drugs, including oral antibiotics, glaucoma drops, and pain medication. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

Dr. Suarez is licensed as a doctor in Texas and Oklahoma, and has traveled extensively to offer volunteer eye care. She helped with the Special Olympics in Florida as an on-site eye doctor. She traveled with a medical mission group to Honduras to offer free medical care to rural areas where there is no other care available.

Dr. Suarez spends her free time with her husband and two young children. She enjoys volunteering and helping special needs children both at volunteer clinics and events.
